2017年，中国国务院将8月19日定为中国医师节。这个日子类似于美国每年3月30日庆祝的国家医生节。美国国家医生节是在1990年由乔治·H·W·布什总统正式设立的。这一节日旨在强调医生为促进患者、家庭和社区的健康所做的重要工作。在这一天，我们推进医生与患者之间的重要关系。8月19日，我们向在中国的医生们致敬，为了让我们所有人保持健康，他们辛勤工作、无私奉献。

August 19, 2019, marks the second annual Chinese Doctors’ Day!

In 2017 the State Council designated August 19th as Chinese Doctors’ Day.  This day is similar to National Doctors’ Day in the U.S., which is celebrated annually on March 30th. U.S. National Doctors’ Day was made official 1990 by President George H.W. Bush. The purpose of this holiday is to highlight the important work that doctors do to advance the health of patients, families, and communities. On this day we promote the important relationship between doctors and their patients. On August 19, we salute doctors in China for their hard work and dedication to keep us all healthy.

We wish a Happy Doctors’ Day to all doctors in China!
